The Crescent nebula, in the Cygnus constellation, is one of the biggest and brightest nebula visible from the nord hemisphere.

It is made of various clouds of gaz (hydrogen, sulfide, oxygen,...) all being part of our own galaxy, the Milky Way.

A planetary nebula is the name given to the gaz structure remaining after the explosion of a star. Sometime, the dead star is still visible at the center, as a nice cyan color star.

All the gaz visible in this amazing picture, is blown away at an extreme high speed (movement not visible for a human, due to the size scale) and will possibly, one day contribute to the born of new stars.

It has been captured using a 300mm scope and a special narrow band filter capturing light from Hydrogene. The total exposure (sub-exposures compilation) is more than 14 hours long.
